Launching time in Stockholm

This weekend it is launching time in Stockholm. For the past weeks there have been full activity at the boats and now it’s time. I think this is the big sign that spring has finally arrived.

A rainy afternoon in Stockholm

Well a dog needs to go out no matter what the weather is. So why not take the opportunity to visit the Old Town and walk around the castle on a Wednesday evening in the rain. The shops were closed but it was surprisingly a lot of people out there despite the rain.

We saw the start of Old town Ghost walk and we recommend you to do this!

Culture night Stockholm

Tonight Albin decided what to do. We left Dimma back home and walked to Räntmästartrappan not far from Slussen.

We started our culture night in a “hop on hop off” boat. We did a good choice, we didnt start a Nybraviken were the line of people were a least 100 meters.

We went of at Swedish athletics museum and saw an exibition of the olympic games. Then we saw the police museum and solved some crimes and had a medal for it.

The bus musem took care of the transportaion further to the Medieval Museum. The bus was from 1965 and needed a bus guard in every door.Nice experience of boat and bus. We had som middle age food at the musem before we went home by foot, 1,5 km in the Stockholm nightlife. We are all tired and we probobly sleep in the next 5 min…

Stockholm adventures – Gothenburg

If Stockholm plans for a winter weekend in april, leave Stockholm for spring in Gothenburg. Only 4 hours away from Stockholm with the fast train. Last weekend we went there to visit a friend of mine. We listened to the weather report and heard that Stockholm had a snow blizzard when we woke up at the hotel. That felt good. Spring had come longer in Gothenburg.

We think that the best way to see a city is by foot so we took a run and in the middle of the city in a park we saw a deer.

Shopping at Addnature

After a latte at Götgatan we went to Addnature at Högbergsgatan. Our favourit swedish brand are Houdini sportswear. It’s expensive but I use to say that I live in mine. Albin last one is finished and we looked for a new one but he has grown so much that the child sizes starts to get too small and 800 Skr is much money when he probably only is able to use it for a half year. Well we also looked at trousers and found a zip off pair to Albin.

Overnight in paradise – Paradiset Sörmlandsleden

We started the day at Drottningsholms castle together with Peter’s relatives for some Easter activities. When they left we thought about how beautiful we think it is at Paradiset along Sörmlandsleden. So we decided to go back and bring our sleeping bags and stay overnight in one of the windshields. We didn’t know if it would be other people there but if it where we could either go a little bit further or go back home after we had eaten. So we brought up our backpacks and sleeping bags from the basement and ordered pizza, and then we took the car and drove away.

We wanted to sleep at the wind shield at Trehörningen and when we saw the cape we saw two other people there but they had a tent. We arrived and asked if it was ok that we also was there and it was no problem.

The other couple had already started the fire so we started to eat our pizzas.

When  it began to darken we made what we in Sweden call “Pinnbröd – Stick bread”. Do you have something the same? The recipe is as follows:
Ingredients
5 dl flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 dl water, cold

Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Put it in a plastic bag or if you want prepare everything directly back home. Stir in the water and knead into a dough.
If you want your can stir in the water in the plastic bag when you are out.
Roll the dough between your hands into long sausages which are then spun around the pins.
Bake the loaves over the dying embers, all around, for about 15 minutes.
When the bread comes off the peg it is finished. Eat bread with a pat of butter in the hole formed by the pin.

The April weather in Sweden is very fickle so at some time it got very windy and some snow came but it was soon over. We went into our sleeping bags and had a very good sleep.
